NEWS: T.I. Joins Voting Initiative, Album Pushed Back
Grammy-winning rapper T.I. has teamed up with The Hip-Hop Caucus to present an upcoming voter registration campaign for the 2008 Presidential Election.
The “Get Out the Vote” campaign’s aim, which will target adults in the 18-29 age groups, is to have the voices of younger generations heard in the upcoming election and to continue the tradition for the future.
Led by the self-proclaimed “King of the South,” Tip will be using various celebrities and key industry figures to help with the marketing which includes Public Service Announcements, online marketing, and professional image usage by popular photographer Jonathan Mannion.
As of now, the campaign’s slogan and t-shirts will be withheld until the press conference next week.
The official announcement of the initiative is currently scheduled for this Monday (July 28) in Washington, DC.
In related news, Tip’s highly anticipated album Paper Trail has been pushed back yet again to early fall.
According to Billboard, his publicist claims the decision is due to late filming for Tip’s first official single, “Whatever You Like”.
“We’re not ready yet,” Tip’s publicist told Billboard. “[It] is being shot today and we need more time.”
Paper Trail is currently scheduled to hit shelves September 30.
